My name is Betsy Coffeen. I’m a children’s book author with a deep passion to be philanthropic for children’s causes.

Being former Childhelp Wings Board Members and Advisor and mother to three kids, my curiosity on how we can provide the best environments for children to thrive has led me to graduate school where I am completing my Master of Science in Psychology degree with a special interest in mindfulness research. I am currently training through the Chopra program to become a meditation teacher. My second book, CATE AND THE GARDEN BANDITS is now available for pre-order!

Cate and the Garden Bandits

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure with Cate the butterfly! One day, while lost in a daydream, Cate finds herself in the middle of a mystery. The flower petals in her garden are missing, and she can’t figure out what happened. But when she comes face-to-face with a bumblebee, everything changes.

At first, Cate is frightened by the bumblebee’s size and unfamiliar appearance. But soon, she discovers that this mysterious creature is on a mission to protect his family.

SEL on School Library Journal

Cate and the Garden Bandits incorporates general science facts to drive home the importance of how our world will only survive by interdependence. It also introduces more challenging vocabulary words for enrichment and to accommodate the learning loss that occurred during the early days of the pandemic.

Cate's Magic Garden

A heartwarming and lavishly illustrated picture book to remind young readers that even in the darkest of times, “words change worlds.”

When Cate the caterpillar discovers a dried-up garden and the grumpy critters who call it home, it’s up to her to show Davey Dung Beetle, Pete Potato Bug, and Walter Worm how to make it bloom. Can Cate teach them to use the magic of friendship and the power of positive thinking to bring their garden back to life?
